The Zoo Boise Conservation Circle is a group of philanthropic individuals who not only ensure the vitality of Zoo Boise, but also ensure the future of wild animals. Members of this group share a deep passion for wildlife preservation, habitat conservation, education, animal care and Zoo Boise. In addition to annual memberships at Zoo Boise, Conservation Circle members will experience the zoo in unique ways with opportunities to go behind the scenes to meet our animals and their keepers, learn more about important conservation topics, and have fun at several exclusive events throughout the year.
- Adopt An Animal
Add a member of our family to yours today! Become a part of our wonderful and wild zoo family. As a zoo parent, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you’re helping Zoo Boise and making a contribution to the welfare of the many animals that call Zoo Boise home. Administered by the Friends of Zoo Boise, Adopt an Animal funds are used to provide special animal care, enrichment, special diets, minor exhibit improvements, and zoo keeper training.

Zoo Boise doesn’t run on admission prices alone. We depend on the generous support of individuals, foundations and corporations to help make Zoo Boise one of the best small zoos in the country.
- Giraffe Behind the Scenes Tour
The last giraffe tour for the season is on 11/2 and will resume in the spring once the temperatures are warmer. However, you may still purchase tours.
Get up-close and personal with the tallest animal on land, with a private behind the scenes giraffe tour. Not only will you get to meet and feed the Zoo Boise giraffes, but you’ll learn how the giraffes are taken care of by one of our staff members.
- Penguin Behind the Scenes Tour
Get the best view of Zoo Boise’s Magellanic penguin colony, from inside the exhibit on a private behind the scenes tour. Not only will you get to meet and feed the Zoo Boise penguins, but you’ll learn how the penguins are taken care of by one of our staff members.
- Aldabra Tortoise Behind the Scenes Tour
Come meet our favorite Zoo Boise resident, Mr. Mac, a 375 pound Aldabra tortoise on a private behind the scenes tour. Not only will you get to meet and touch Mr. Mac, but you’ll learn how he’s taken care of by one of our staff members.
- Anteater Behind the Scenes Tour
Are you ready to meet and feed a giant anteater? You can go on a private behind the scenes tour with one of our staff members and feed one of the anteaters yogurt.
- Create an Enrichment Tour
Join one of our staff members to make an enrichment for your favorite Zoo Boise animal and then watch as the animal interacts with it. Enrichment is important, because it encourages the animals to use their natural behaviors and abilities.
- Red Panda Behind the Scenes Tour - Limited Time
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to feed a red panda? Well wonder no more! You and up to 3 guests- all over the age of 10- will get to feed a red panda and enjoy a zoo keeper talk to learn all about these amazing animals
We are only able to offer these tours during April and May. Limited space available. Tickets are non-refundable.

Zoo Boise offers gift cards for daily admission and zoo programs offered through the City of Boise! City of Boise Parks and Recreation gift cards may be purchased in person at the following locations during normal business hours:

Gift cards redeemed at Zoo Boise may only be used toward daily zoo admission or education programs offered through the City of Boise (click here for a list of programs and to register online). Gift cards may also be redeemed at any City of Boise Parks and Recreation class, program, or rental offered through Fort Boise Community Center, City Recreation Office, Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, or Idaho IceWorld. Please note that gift cards cannot be used to purchase the following activities or merchandise: Zootique Gift Shop items, zoo concessions, animal encounters, Conservation Cruise, Zoo Farm, Behind the Scenes Tours, Adopt an Animal, annual passes/memberships, photo booth, Wine Safaris, Painting with the Penguins, or any other activity or event offered through Friends of Zoo Boise (FoZB) or Service Systems Associates (SSA).

- Name a Cockroach after Someone
Show your love by naming a Zoo Boise cockroach after that special someone, your best friend, or your favorite family member. After purchasing, we will email you the certificate. Just respond with what you want to name the cockroach (must be approved by Zoo Boise staff) and we’ll add it to the website. The cost is only $10 or pair it with a discounted behind the scenes tour to give an extra special gift!
- Paint with Penguins
Adult nights – 11/04/20 (Participants must be 21+)
Have you ever wondered how penguins paint? Wonder no more. Join us for a special evening at Zoo Boise from 4:30pm – 6:30pm for a paint and sip with our Magellanic penguins. You’ll paint the background, enjoy some wine, cheese, and crackers, and be treated to a special keeper talk and behind the scenes tour. Then you’ll watch as the penguins add their personal touch to your painting and you get to take your painting home!
Paint with Penguins is a special fundraiser for Zoo Boise. Only 10 spots are available for each date. Dates are subject to change if the penguins are molting (shedding old feathers) or nesting. Refunds will be available if the date changes. Otherwise, tickets for Paint with Penguins are nonrefundable. If you have questions, please call 208-608-7764.

- Wine Safari
Join your favorite animals for an unforgettable behind the scenes experience at the zoo!
You’ll enjoy tastes of wine from around the world, while also experiencing VIP animal encounters, tours, and experiences. Light appetizers will be provided. Please note: animal encounters are animal and weather dependent.
This event is limited to the first 30 people who sign up, so get your ticket today! Tickets are $150 each.
Wine Safari is on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. Tickets for Wine Safari are nonrefundable.
- Wild About Idaho Wines - Adult Night
Join Zoo Boise for a fun, adult-only evening of wildlife viewing, special animal experiences, delicious appetizers, a commemorative glass, and of course, Idaho wines!

This event is limited to the first 250 tickets sold. Tickets are $100 each and are non-refundable. All proceeds benefit Zoo Boise’s mission to connect our visitors with animals to inspire and involve our community in the conservation of wildlife worldwide.

- Mother's Day Brunch
Join Zoo Boise for our annual Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 10, 2020 from 9am – 10am.
Guests will be treated to a buffet breakfast, zookeeper talk, and a special gift for all mothers! Then you’ll have the rest of the day to explore your zoo.
Cost for the Mother’s Day Brunch:
$31.90 adults – Annual Pass holders/$37.40 adults – non-Annual Pass holders
$17.60 children 3-11 – Annual Pass holders/$20.90 children 3-11 – non-Annual Pass holders
Pricing for the Mother’s Day Brunch includes online fees & tax.
Children 2 and under are free, but still require reservations. Cost includes zoo admission for the remainder of the day.
