Zoo Boise is excited to announce two brand new Private Animal Experiences!
Private Anteater Feeding Experience
Are you ready to feed a giant anteater? You and up to three friends or family members can feed McCauley, our male giant anteater, in a private experience hosted by Zoo Boise staff.
Available at 4:15pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays:
- Cost – $30 for first person, $20 for each additional person
- Maximum Group Size – 4 people
- Minimum Age – 2 years
- Length – 30 minutes
- Adult to Child Ratio – 1:3
- Touching – No
- Feeding – Yes
- Zoo admission is required and is NOT included with Private Animal Experiences.
- After purchase, a Zoo Boise representative will contact you via email within two business days to schedule a date or send a gift certificate.
- Close toed shoes are required (no sandals, flip-flops, etc.)
Private Lion Experience
Love lions and want to experience more? Your adventure is hosted by either the zoo director or general curator. You will watch from indoors as the lions are released from their den first thing in the morning. Then you will observe behaviors and an exclusive training session. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss with zoo staff.
Available at 10:00am and may be scheduled any day of the week. Subject to staff availability.

- Maximum Group Size – 10 people
- Minimum Age – none
- Length – 30 minutes
- Adult to Child Ratio – 1:4
- Touching – No
- Feeding – No
