Meet Makena!
Zoo Boise has a new resident, an 11-year-old female warthog who recently arrived from the San Antonio Zoo. She’s currently in quarantine (a standard health practice when welcoming new animals), but you might catch a glimpse of her in her chute over the next couple of weeks.
As part of some exciting habitat updates, the African wild dogs will be rotating into the former hyena space, and once Makena is comfortable and ready to explore, she’ll move into the former African wild dog habitat. This will give everyone some fresh space to enjoy.
We’re thrilled to welcome Makena to Zoo Boise!
