Twix, a one-year-old male red panda, has arrived at Zoo Boise for a temporary stay, while his new home is finalized at another AZA-accredited zoo. This means five red pandas currently call the new Virginia R. Bartak Red Panda Passage home.
Twix has a special Zoo Boise connection. His dad, Mars, was born here in 2013 to Dolly and Winston, making Twix part of Boise’s red panda legacy.
The Virginia R. Bartak Red Panda Passage was designed to not only house and breed red pandas as part of the Red Panda Species Survival Plan, but also to serve as a state-of-the-art temporary home when needed. Come meet Twix soon and help us welcome him to the City of Trees!
Zoo Boise is a division of Boise Parks and Recreation.
