Painted Dog Research Zoo Chats

Wednesday, January 28, 2026
10:30AM and 2:30PM
Included with zoo admission

While you’re at the zoo, learn all about African wild dogs (also known as painted dogs) with guest Zoo Chats at 10:30AM and 2:30PM from Painted Dog Research founder and executive director Dr. Gregory Rasmussen on Wednesday, January 28.

Dr. Rasmussen is the one of the world’s premier field biologists, dedicating nearly 40 years to studying the endangered painted dog (also known as the African wild dog). With only around 6,600 remaining in the wild, painted dogs face serious threats from habitat loss, human conflict, and roads. Rasmussen founded Painted Dog Research in 2014 in northwest Zimbabwe, one of the species’ last strongholds.

Each chat will be followed by viewing a training or enrichment for our wild dogs!
