School Rates

School rates cover admission into the zoo for everyone in your group, but do not cover guided tours.

Schools (nonprofit) - public, private, and homeschools

School groups may be eligible to receive a discounted nonprofit rate of $3.00/person. This nonprofit rate applies to the teachers/chaperones as well as students. For-profit daycares and pre-schools do not qualify for this discount.

Requirements:

  • A group reservation must be made at least two weeks in advance by completing our field trip form.
  • The school rate is only available during the Boise School District school year, Monday through Friday. An exception will be made for modified track schools. Homeschool groups will only receive this rate with children ages 3-18.
  • Payment must be made from the school or organization to receive the discounted admission rate. Multiple methods of payment are not allowed at the nonprofit discounted rate.
  • If a student comes with their class and has a current Friends of Zoo Boise membership, the student is admitted free. The instructor can confirm the student’s identity, however membership card is required.
  • The discounted nonprofit rate does not include admission to Butterflies in Bloom, Conservation Cruise, carousel rides, animal encounters, or other activities.  Activity admission may be purchased separately.
  • Zoo Boise requests one chaperone for every five students.

Registered 501c3 Nonprofit Youth Groups

Registered 501c3 nonprofit organizations serving children under the age of 18 may be eligible for the nonprofit group rate of $3.00/person. Examples of groups that qualify for this rate include Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Boys & Girls Clubs, church youth groups, etc.

Requirements:

  • A group reservation must be made at least two weeks in advance by completing our field trip form.
  • Payment must be made from the nonprofit organization to receive the discounted admission rate. Multiple methods of payment are not allowed at the nonprofit discounted rate.

Government Organizations

Select city, county, state, and federal government organizations may qualify for the nonprofit group rate of $3.00/person. Examples include the State Veteran’s Home and the Idaho Commission on the Blind.

  • Payment must be made from the organization to receive the discounted admission rate. Multiple methods of payment are not allowed at the nonprofit discounted rate.
