At Zoo Boise, conservation is not just part of our mission. It is who we are. In 2007, Zoo Boise changed what a zoo could be by launching a simple but powerful idea. Add 25 cents to every admission and send it straight to help protect animals in the wild. That idea sparked something much bigger.
Fast forward to today and that 25 cents has grown into a full dollar. From everything we can find, we are the only zoo our size and possibly the only zoo anywhere contributing at this level. While many zoos give 25 or 50 cents per ticket, Zoo Boise commits a full dollar, making every visit an action that truly matters.
And the results speak for themselves.
Since 2007, guests walking through our gates have raised $1,887,730 for conservation through admissions alone. When combined with events, programs, memberships, and other support, Zoo Boise has contributed more than four million dollars to protecting wildlife across the globe. These dollars help restore habitats, support anti-poaching patrols, boost species recovery programs, and strengthen the work of conservation partners making a real difference.
Every time someone walks through our gates, they are not just seeing animals, they are helping to save animals. That is an incredible impact made possible by every visitor who chooses to spend a day at the zoo.
Zoo Boise believes a zoo should be more than a place to just observe animals. It should be a force for good. Thanks to our community, we are proud to say that is exactly what it has become.
