Big improvements are coming to Zoo Boise, and we couldn’t be more excited! Starting Monday, November 4, we’re temporarily closing the Small Animal Kingdom for an exciting transformation that will bring new, updated spaces for both animals and guests to enjoy.
We invite you to come see some of your favorite animals, like the spider monkeys, cotton-top tamarins, and Aldabra tortoise, before the area temporarily closes. During construction, the meerkats and desert tortoise will be moved to the gift shop habitats, which have been retrofitted to meet their needs and are still viewable to the public.
This incredible upgrade includes the TLC Foundation Small Cat Hideaway, a brand-new meerkat habitat, expanded Aldabra tortoise habitats, and much more.
We’re also building a two-story education campus with accessible indoor and outdoor classrooms, designed to engage learners of all ages and abilities. This will allow us to offer more programs and create even more robust learning experiences, deepening our commitment to conservation and education.
You can help support this important improvement to your zoo by purchasing a commemorative tile or making a donation. Learn more and get involved at zooboise.org/heart. These updates will enhance Zoo Boise experiences for guests, our team, and most importantly, benefit the wellbeing of our animals. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting changes!
