Spring is in the air, and Zoo Boise is ready to celebrate with its annual Easter EGGstravaganza, presented by SCHEELS! Families are invited to hop over to the zoo on Saturday, April 19 for a fun-filled day of animals, activities, candy, and fun.
Guests can explore candy stations, visit vendors, and meet the Easter Bunny — all while learning about the 100 species that call Zoo Boise home. The zoo animals will also receive special Easter-themed treats throughout the day, offering a unique and unforgettable experience.
“Easter EGGstravaganza is one of our favorite spring traditions,” said Zoo Boise Director Gene Peacock. “It’s a great way for families to celebrate together while supporting wildlife conservation.”

Parking and Travel Information
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve several areas and exhibits located near Zoo Boise’s front gate. These projects do include some parking impacts, but always keep in mind there is plenty of parking behind the zoo near the Julia Davis Park Lagoon, tennis courts, and East End Celebration Pavilion. We appreciate your understanding.
Both the front and back gates will be open for zoo entrance during Easter EGGstravaganza, and everything inside the zoo will be accessible with the exception of the Small Animal Kingdom, which is temporarily closed for renovations.
If you are planning to use the Boise River Greenbelt to get to Zoo Boise, there is a temporary closure of the Capitol Blvd. tunnel that is not expected to wrap up until Monday, April 21. The closure is in place for a geothermal repair project. Detours are posted and signed. Visit the City of Boise’s website to learn more about impacts to the Greenbelt.
