We want to make your visit to Zoo Boise as enjoyable as possible. Here are some things you should know when visiting the zoo:
- What are the zoo hours
Zoo Boise is open daily from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, September through May. June through August, Zoo Boise is open from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. Last admission is at 4:30 pm daily.

- Where are restrooms and drinking fountains located
Zoo Boise has 3 sets of restrooms and 2 sets of drinking fountains. Please consult our Zoo Map.
- Where can I get first aid
First aid is available at the front gate.
- What is the procedure for lost children (or adults)
Lost children (or adults) will be escorted to the front gate to be reunited with their groups. If you lose a child in the zoo, please find a staff member for help locating him/her.
- Where is the lost & found
Any items found on zoo grounds will be taken to the front gate office. Please call 208-608-7760.
- Are wagons available for rent

- Are wheelchairs available
Wheelchairs are available at no charge on a first come, first served basis at the gift shop. For scooter, wagon, and stroller rental info click here.
- Are skateboards, bikes, roller skates, & roller shoes allowed
No. Bikes may be locked up in the racks outside of the front gate before entering the zoo.
- What other items and activities are prohibited in the zoo
Stickers, balls, balloons, smoking, vaping, and drones.
- Can I reenter the zoo after paying admission
Yes, but only on the same day of your paid admission until 4:30pm. Please hold on to your receipt and ask for a gift shop employee for a hand stamp. Hand stamps and receipts must be shown to the front gate attendants to reenter.
- Are dogs allowed in Zoo Boise
No pets are allowed into the zoo, except for service dogs. Companion animals are not allowed.
- Are service animals allowed in Zoo Boise
Service animals are allowed in the zoo, but pets and companion animals are not.
- Can we touch the animals
No. For your safety, please stay on the public side of guard rails and ropes. Do not attempt to touch any animals (except at Zoo Farm). All wild animals can be dangerous.
- Can we feed the animals
No. Please don’t feed any animals (except during encounters or at the Zoo Farm). To maintain their health, our residents are on strictly controlled diets.
- Can we bring food into the zoo?
Yes, but anything with straws, glass, stickers, and alcohol are prohibited from being brought into the zoo.
