We want to make your visit to Zoo Boise as enjoyable as possible. Here are some things you should know when visiting the zoo:
- What are the zoo hours
Zoo Boise is open daily from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, June through August. September through May, Zoo Boise is open from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Last admission is at 4:30 pm daily.

- Where is Zoo Boise located
Zoo Boise is located at 355 Julia Davis Dr in Julia Davis Park. Click here for directions.
- Where are restrooms and drinking fountains located
Zoo Boise has 3 sets of restrooms and drinking fountains. Please consult our Zoo Map.
- Where can I get first aid
First aid is available at the front gate.
- What is the procedure for lost children (or adults)
Lost children (or adults) will be escorted to the front gate to be reunited with their groups. If you lose a child in the zoo, please find a staff member for help locating him/her.
- Where is the lost & found
Any items found on zoo grounds will be taken to the front gate office. Please call 208-608-7760.
- Are wagons available for rent
Wagons are available to rent at the Zootique gift shop. Wagons and Safari Jeeps are $5.
- Are wheelchairs available
Wheelchairs are available at no charge on a first come, first serve basis. Wheelchairs may be picked up at the front gate.
- Are skateboards, bikes, roller skates, & roller shoes allowed in Zoo Boise
No. Bikes may be locked up in the racks outside of the front gate.
- Are dogs allowed in Zoo Boise
No, except for service dogs. Companion animals are not allowed.
- Can we touch the animals
No. For your safety, please stay on the public side of guard rails and ropes. Do not attempt to touch any animals (except at Zoo Farm). All wild animals can be dangerous.
- Can we feed the animals
No. Please don’t feed any animals (except during encounters or at the Zoo Farm). To maintain their health, our residents are on strictly controlled diets.
- Can we bring food into the zoo?
Yes, but anything with straws, glass, stickers, and alcohol are prohibited from being brought into the zoo.
